No SIM to Be Sold Without Biometric System Verification After August 1st, 2014 Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has announced that no SIM will be sold or activated throughout Pakistan without biometric verification of customers starting August 1st, 2014. PTA said that SIM activations through 789 will discontinue and SIMs will only be registered through biometric verification. How to Get New SIM After August 1st ? Mobilink has finally marked the commercial launch of its 3G service, as customers are being charged for the 3G service from today. Mobilink users will have to activate their 3G services. Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has partnered with Higher Education Commission (HEC) to promote education in the country. In this regard, the company inked an agreement today with HEC for provision of 100,000 EVO wireless devices to university students nationwide. The devices will be provided along with laptops under the Prime Minister’s National Laptop Scheme.
